Challenges - Everyday To Massive

****

Massive changes are happening all around us, and as Elders we might feel marginalized.  But at the same time, there are many elders who are instigating these global changes and challenges.  How do we, from our center, deal with those challenges? It’s a safe bet that we are always going to have some type of conflict or challenge and the most vital question might be how we choose to address those.

How do we see what’s here?

How do we deal with the ordinary challenges of daily life?

What brings you out of challenge and changes your perspective?

Being an Elder is a privilege no matter what the future holds. What do you witness of your habitual choices in daily life?

Is this a story that resonates…

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters

By Portia Nelson

I.

I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I fall in. I am lost. I am helpless.

It isn't my fault.

It takes forever to find a way out.

II.

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I still don't see it. I fall in again.

I can't believe I am in the same place.

It isn't my fault.

It still takes a long time to get out.

III.

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I see it there; I still fall in.

It's habit. It's my fault. I know where I am.

I get out immediately.

IV.

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I walk around it.

V.

I walk down a different street.

On Wednesday, April 9th we will continue our inquiry and discussion into the experience of the range and nature of responses that are possible and pose questions regarding the values associated with whatever response you discover.

Come join us on July 9th for a lively and timely inquiry into the stimulating world of Elderhood.

The Sangha call is July 9th

The Sangha is a community examining how to live our best expression of wisdom and Elderhood. To be this expression, we must shift our way of thinking so that we transmute information and insights into wisdom. In this Sangha we offer experiences and discussions that inform the process of becoming Elder. We draw from the rich traditions of Eastern and Western practices, philosophies and psychologies.
